The FNR is very happy to announce the call for gifted young researchers to engage as Luxembourg delegates at the 6th Lindau Meeting on Economic Sciences, which occurs from 22 – 26 August 2017 in Lindau, Germany. To apply to attend is Monday, 12 December.

About the assembly

Every three years, The Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings and the Foundation Lindau Nobel Prize winners organise the Lindau Meeting of the Laureates of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, where ca. 20 Laureates congregate with about 400 young gifted economists from all over the world.

About the programme

The Lindau Meeting on Economic Sciences offers an open exchange of economic expertise and inspires cross cultural and inter-generational meetings from all around the globe among economists.

The programme includes a wide-ranging selection of content including specific dialogue sessions and lectures, round table talks. The purpose of the assemblies’ social activities and various sessions is dependent on the directing principle “Train. Inspire. Join.” For young research workers who stand at the start of their careers, this is a precious chance to meet the luminaries of their area, to seek their guidance in specific technical problems or in personal matters, to exchange notions and views, and to discuss current developments in economic science as well as the world.

Who can use

The current call is open to

– Nominees of Luxembourg origins (Luxembourg nationality or Luxembourg residence > 5 yrs)

– non-Luxembourgers who run their studies/research work primarily at a Luxembourg-based institution

Nominees should be in the discipline of chemistry or powerfully associated areas, at Master, PhD or Postdoc degree. Please refer to the file in annex for more in-depth info regarding the selection criteria of the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings.

Choice procedure

The FNR will run a pre-choice and nominate 2 candidates to the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. Nominated candidates are subsequently encouraged to submit another application (enclosed a letter of recommendation) directly to the Lindau selection committee for the closing choice.

Financing details

The FNR will cover all fixed expenses associated with the involvement of the ultimately remembered nominees (traveling, lodging, enrollment).

Preceding Luxembourg participants

At the conclusion of the assembly, participants are anticipated to give opinions on their experiences.
